Click here for 2009 Renewal Application in MSWord format I try to post the newsletter the day I receive it from publisher. It will be on or about the first of the month. You might notice that snail mail gets to you on the 15th to the 21st of the month. Check here near the first of the month for the newsletter. From the desk of Joel Powell I am setting Saturday, December 06, 2008 at 10 AM as a meeting date to accomplish two tasks; 1) set the service rifle match schedule for the 2009 season and 2) be a workday after the meeting to fix the rifle range stools as needed and to prepare new stools I have already purchased. The meeting will of course be at the club with this dual purpose meeting. If you have any ideas for a match or would like to see changes in the matches we have been running thus far, this is your chance. I am open to any new ideas as long as the goal is to have safe fun with these matches. This same information will be included in the October club newsletter. I know it's deer season but maybe you'll have all your tags filled by then!

7/12/2008 Update on fence work on east boundary of our range property unavailable at this time. Contact officers if you need updated information. 07/20/2008
Update on fence work Friday, May 30, 2008, 8 PM Jennings is still trying to schedule the fence construction during the week so it will not interfere with our operation as much.
Fence Construction - April 24, 2008 We are fortunate to have an agreement with the owner of the property to the east of us for new fencing to commence on that property line. Consequentially, both shotgun ranges will be closed during construction. Work is tentatively scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday with the possible dates being either May 9th-May 11th, May 16th- May 18, or May 23rd-May 25th. Construction dates are subject to several variables including but not limited to the weather. Range closure is to be determined by the work crew with appropriate signs posted on the ranges. We expect work day to be from 7-8 am until 4-5 pm. It is expected that the ranges will be open after construction halts each day. There are discussions that may render a decision to work during the normal work week as opposed to the weekend. Any concerns please contact the club manager or any officer.
Update - Pistol range construction from our manager May 30, 2008
The front of the overhead baffle is completed.
We have two of the five sections of the back of it completed. We got
rained out Tuesday and it was too muddy to attempt to do more this week.
We will work on it Monday and Tuesday. I have scheduled the welder to
come out on Tuesday morning to do the welding ont eh eyebrow frame m and fill
the overhead baffle with pea gravel. After the frame is welded, I am
having him carry the plywood up on the berm and install it. We will then
lay felt on the plywood and install R-panel steel roofng over the plywood
along with J-strips to protect the edges of the plywood from the wether.
We will also cap the overhead baffles with a formed steel cap to keep the rain
out.
I will also be purchasing more of the green
netting for the berms to prevent or slow the erosion. Once these are
installed, we will plant some grass. Hopefully we can get a large
storage tank and a booster pump to aid in sprinkling the grass seed.
Then we will drill the holes for the target
holders and install the PVC pipe for them. We should paint the
structures to extend the life of them. At this point we should have the
blessing of the Safety Committee and the Board.
After that we should be able to open this range
Update - May 6, 2008 from our manager
The contracter hopes to build the forms Tuesday
and pour the cement for the beams on the eyebrow of the new Pistol Range this
week, weather permitting. Once this is done then I will have a welder
out there to install the metal beams for theyebrow. These will hold a
plywood roof which will be covered in with steel R-Panel.
The contracter will be delivering and setting the
poles for the overhead baffles this week. Once these are set then I will
purchase the lumber and bolts for the overhead baffles.
