Here's a New Favorite Gun- Thanks, Ron
Chuck,
I recently located a "byf 1944 Mauser"
P-38 pistol and holster. The collector included an
original box of 16 - 9mm Luger ammo that he had forgotten came with
the set. The ammo
box is dated 1944, with each bullet being stamped 10-44...cool.
My WWII German 1944 collection is growing. Pics added that
show the "dou. 44" k98
rifle, the "cof 44" bayonet with matching scabbard, the
"byf 44 P-38", and the "bla 1944"
P-38 holster included with the pistol.
Shot it yesterday at 7 yards...very light recoil, nice group. The
WWII Pistol
Forum pros
suggested the Winchester "white box" 9mm
Luger factory ammo (50 rds for $13.95 at
Academy) matched the original loads. All rounds fed swell; smooth
operation and quite
a thrill to shoot.
Chuck, I just realized this is my first, original "war-time"
pistol...there may be a shift in my
collecting in the future...hmmm?
