Thanks to PCSC for the support that allows our kids to be competitive in such events!!!: Parker County 4-H participated in the Junior Olympic Trials held January 14-15 at the TCU campus. Over 60 Junior shooters participated in the Texas State Competition sanctioned by USA Shooting. This match, allowed them the chance to receive an invitation to shoot at the National Junior Olympic Championships ho...sted by USA Shooting in Colorado Spring, Colorado. The rifle shooters that represented Parker County were Mindy Miles, Sydney Casey, Martii Rahi, Jon Rahi, and Marcus Casey. Marcus, Jon and Marti shot their personnel high in smallbore. Sydney and Mindy won 1st in their age group in smallbore and Mindy took home the gold in women's air rifle. Keep your fingers crossed as the kids wait for the final scores to post in hopes of a invite to Colorado this spring.

Update - Friday, USA Shooting announced that 514 Junior Shooters across the nation are invited to Participate in 2012 National Junior Olympic Shooting Championships. Of those invited, two local girls Mindy Miles and Sydney Casey, received ...the call they were selected to shoot in Colorado Springs at the Olympic Training Center. This a huge accomplishment for shooting sports in our area and I venture to guess this the first time in recent Parker County history that an accomplishment of this magnitude has been achieved.
